This study examines academic writing in a graduate program in Japan through genre theory, EAP, and academic literacies. Drawing on student surveys, faculty interviews, and student work, it explores how writing conventions are negotiated across health, social sciences, and humanities, highlighting shared norms, expectations, hybridity, boundary crossing, and pedagogical implications.
