I earned my Ph.D. in Linguistics from the Graduate Institute of Linguistics at National Taiwan University (NTU) in 2011. My research lies at the intersection of linguistics and education, with core interests in psycholinguistics, cognitive linguistics, aging and language, first and second language acquisition, and interdisciplinary English instruction.
Over the past decade, I have increasingly focused on the integration of linguistic theory with applied language teaching, particularly in contexts that combine professional, technological, and global dimensions. This includes research and curriculum development in English Medium Instruction (EMI), Technology-Enhanced English Learning (TEEL), and Profession-Linked English Instruction (Pro-LEI)—a framework I have developed to align English learning with students’ disciplinary and career needs, particularly in nursing and allied global professional education.
At SSLW 2025, I’m honored to present a study exploring how Machine Translation (MT) tools and AI chatbots, especially ChatGPT, influence EFL student writing revisions across proficiency levels. I welcome conversations on technology integration in writing pedagogy, curriculum innovation, EFL/ESP education in underrepresented contexts, and the evolving role of AI in language learning.
